- I bought some engine paint and painted the block today. You might think I'm crazy, but I went with Ford Blue. Now I now that Chevy's are supposed to Orange (and if this was a numbers matching restoration it would be), but I went with what I though looked the best. My reason for picking blue is that it will be in the same color area as the outside body color (which will eventually be a metallic blue), and a darker color will look good with the chrome accessories. There was a GM blue and a Ford blue, but the Ford one looked better.

- Got the dressup kit in. This is good news, because we were unable to put the oil pan on before the timing chain cover was on (and the timing chain cover was in the kit). Hopefully we can get to putting this on soon.

- Put both the timing chain cover and the oil pump/pan in. The thing looks really good now. The blue was a good choice with the chrome parts. I took some pictures that I will post once they get developed.
- We didn't put anything else from the kit on (i.e. valve covers), becuase they're not needed right now and they might get scratched.

- The headers came in today. Won't be able to do much with them for a while (have to get the entire engine done and mounted before we tackle the exhaust system). But at least it's nice to have them...
