- Didn't have much time to work on the car, as real life kind of got in the way. I did manage to pick up a few parts for it though (see the cost page). I found this one site on the Internet which sells reproduction owners and shop manuals. I am really happy with what I got, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for these kinds of manuals (the link is on the cost page).
- The conversion to disk brakes was not going as well as I had hoped. My Dad can get all of the parts brand new, except for the disk spindles and the caliper brackets. The spindles we can deal with, because you can just machine off a bit of metal from the drum spindle to get one that will fit disk brakes (you can read me venting my frustration here). However, the brackets are the biggest problem...we basically have two options: (a) buy them from the States at about $400CDN for the pair, or (b) look for a donor car from that list mentioned in the linked post. Hopefully we can do (b), since it will save both time and money.

- Yes!! We found a complete set of used power disk brakes for a '69 Chevelle. We phoned a wrecker that lives about 20 minutes north of us (in Gibbons), and they were his last set. The entire set is going to only cost about $500, which is really cheap considering that for only $100 more then new caliper brackets (the only part that I really needed), I get the part now (as opposed to 6-8 weeks), and get an entire kit full of used and hopefully still useful parts (i.e. pads, rotors, etc.). We should be able to start the conversion in early September, so I'll keep the website posted with pictures and text.
- We've also decided to replace the springs and coils while we're doing the brakes, since we'll have to take the A-frames (or control arms) off to do the bushings and spindles.
